Mid February the sun was shining over at Latrobe Golf Club, a stone’s throw from YarraBend, where Glenvill Developments played host over 130 guests from the building and construction industries. The aim of the day? To raise as much as we could for Lighthouse Foundation.
26 Teams teed-off bright and early at 8:30am and were met around the green by a number of interactive stations hosted by our incredible sponsors. Reeds Consulting brought along a surveyor to measure ‘The Longest Drive’; REA Group kept players hydrated whilst hosting the ‘Closest to the pin’ competition; Dynamic Residential setup a raffle, offering players the chance to win a weekend escape; and Glenvill even brought along Latrobe’s own golf pro, James Bowen, who was kindly offering to take players shots for them in exchange for a donation to Lighthouse – I mean, how could you say no to that?
As the day grew hotter, and play started drawing to a close – we welcomed the weary teams back at the Clubhouse to cool down and regroup before moving into the dining room to announce the winners (and strugglers) from the day.
We were joined by Len Warson, Glenvill CEO and Chairman of Lighthouse Foundation, and our guests of honour, Lighthouse’s Founder, Susan Barton and CEO, Dr Eamonn McCarthy. Eamonn shared with guests, the transformational impact that Lighthouse is making in the lives of vulnerable children and young people that need homes, trauma informed support, and a community that cares.
Thanks to the generous donations from our sponsors, local businesses, colleagues and friends, a well-stocked silent auction reignited the competitive spirit in the room at the same time as Registered Auctioneer, Michael Paproth of The Agency, had bids flying around the room in a live auction. The lucky winner from Freedom Property Investors taking home a dining experience worth $10,000 generously donated by REA Group.
As the event came to a close, the winners were presented with the Glenvill Developments Golf Day Trophy in and amongst great prizes donated by a number of our suppliers.
